These are a Graveyard Records with A.D. Ventures exclusive, these have been produced from the ONLY 35mm print known to exist. The owner is Mr. Al Dettlaff of A.D. Ventures International.
Since the 1950's Mr Dettlaff, the American Film Institute, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science and countless others have searched and no other print has been found. Thomas Alva Edison's 1910 Frankenstein film was believed lost forever and turned to dust. In the 1950's an ORIGINAL 35mm Theatrical Edison Print was discovered by Film collector and archivist, Alois Dettlaff. His print is recognized as the ONLY KNOWN 35mm theatrical print that has survived. He was honored at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science in 1986 as an archivist, film collector and preserver of rare films.
Edison's 1910 adaptation of Mary Shelly's 1818 novel, Frankenstein was cinema's FIRST frankenstein film, Charles Ogle played The Monster and Augustus Phillips played The Doctor. It is the first true creation film, other Frankenstein films that followed assembled the creature from body parts from cadaversto make their monsters.
It is note-worthy that the 1910 Edison Frankenstein film was the FIRST film to be publicly banned shortly after it's release on March 18th 1910. Newspapers reported the film as weird and "UN-GODLY" Theater owners refused to show this blasphemous film. How times have changed!
Also included in this exclusive DVD release is a reproduction of Edisons original souvenir program that was given out at theaters in it's original release.
THE BOOTLEGS DVDR'S DON'T INCLUDE THIS
