Halloween Japanese Joy Pack Films Mini Lobby Cards
This is a set of Mini Black and White lobby cards / Press stills
This complete set of ten Japanese mini lobby cards was produced to promote John Carpenter’s landmark horror film Halloween during its original 1979 theatrical release in Japan.
Issued by Japanese distributor Joy Pack Film, the cards feature atmospheric black-and-white images taken from the film. The selection includes several memorable moments involving Michael Myers, Laurie Strode, Dr. Loomis, Annie Brackett, Lynda Van Der Klok and Judith Myers.
Among the scenes represented are Michael Myers stalking the streets and interior of the Wallace house, Laurie Strode attempting to defend herself, Dr. Loomis standing beside the shattered window at Smith’s Grove Sanitarium, Annie and Lynda together, and the young Judith Myers moments before her murder.
Each card carries the Japanese title for the film, ハロウィン (Halloween), along its lower border, together with the Joy Pack Film name and the Japanese Eirin classification mark. Small identifying numbers are also printed within the images.
The set contains a mixture of landscape and portrait-format cards, each measuring approximately 12 × 16.5 cm. Their unusually compact size distinguishes them from the larger lobby-card formats commonly issued in the United States and United Kingdom.
A striking and highly collectible piece of original international advertising for Halloween, the complete set preserves ten of the film’s most recognisable and suspenseful images in a distinctly Japanese theatrical format.
size is 6.5 x 4.3/4 inches each
