Blood Pact Films Brings Guerrilla Metropolitana’s THE BENEFACTRESS to Physical Media and Streaming

Blood Pact Films has added Guerrilla Metropolitana’s divisive arthouse horror THE BENEFACTRESS (An Exposure of Cinematic Freedom) to its catalogue, offering the film on physical media and on select streaming platforms.
About the film
The work is from London-based Italian filmmaker Guerrilla Metropolitana, who previously made the cult arthouse title DARIUSS. THE BENEFACTRESS was created as a deliberately confrontational piece, merging improvisation, elements of performance art, fractured imagery and handheld camerawork. The filmmaker intentionally blurs the line between director, performer, staged fiction and lived reality.
Cast and financing
- The film centers on two British independent actresses credited as Juicy X and Mystery Woman; both perform under pseudonyms and their true identities have not been publicly disclosed.
- Metropolitana has said the project was financed by an anonymous wealthy American woman from high society who also appears in the film, with her identity kept secret.
Reaction and screenings
Response to THE BENEFACTRESS has been sharply divided. Some viewers and critics have framed it as a fearless experiment in transgressive cinema, while others have criticized it as offensive and misogynistic. The controversy has contributed to a following among audiences interested in extreme and boundary-pushing arthouse work. The film has had theatrical screenings in Indiana and California.
Context and distribution
Metropolitana’s films have been noticed internationally by genre publications such as Rue Morgue, Starburst, Mondo Digital, Phantasmagoria and Off Screen. Blood Pact Films’ founder Shane Taraschke said the label saw value in offering a platform for provocative, unconventional titles and wanted the film in the company’s catalogue because it provokes discussion and can find a dedicated audience.
