Black Fawn Distribution has released the official poster and a set of first-look stills for HY3NA, the new hyper-stylized thriller written and directed by Matthew Ninaber. The film is scheduled to have its world premiere at Tubi FrightFest London on August 31, 2026.
What to expect
HY3NA follows Nicole and the enigmatic Rachel after a violent car crash entangles them in a sequence of brutal killings. As two detectives trace the events, the story moves through themes of corrupt online sex work, obsession and manipulation. The narrative shapes itself around shifting power dynamics and the blurring of protector, predator and identity.

HY3NA adds to Ninaber’s growing body of genre work. His recent credits include directing efforts such as Transference: Escape the Dark, Death Valley, and A Knight’s War, and he has appeared on screen in projects including Steven Kostanski’s Psycho Gorman and a recent Deathstalker reboot.
With its festival debut at Tubi FrightFest London and the early visual materials now public, HY3NA is positioning itself as a visually driven, tension-focused entry into contemporary Canadian genre cinema.
