Horror Dadz Productions’ latest found-footage entry, Night Terror, has arrived on Amazon Prime Video for rent or purchase. The film was directed by Joshua Brucker and Hunter Nino and follows a young woman tormented by sleep paralysis and escalating night terrors as she becomes the focus of a student documentary.

Plot and approach

Night Terror centers on Shelly, a woman whose episodes of sleep paralysis and terrifying nocturnal experiences draw the attention of two college students who decide to document her ordeal. What begins as observational footage shifts into increasingly unsettling encounters as the nights progress, using the intimacy and immediacy of found-footage style to heighten tension.

The project was filmed in Watseka, Illinois, with the filmmakers drawing on a rural, isolated setting to amplify the film’s atmosphere. Director Joshua Brucker has spoken about using that small-town, solitary feel to reinforce the sense that help is distant and characters are on their own.
