Premise
The story follows Helena (played by Annable), a forensic medical investigator who is consumed by grief after the death of her husband, Richard. As she becomes fixated on a troubling new case, Helena comes to believe she can bring Richard back, a choice that sets off a chain of frightening events.
Sales and production status
Sublimity Entertainment is launching international sales for Postmortem at TIFF. Sublimity’s leadership has described the picture as marrying an emotional tale of grief with a more elevated approach to genre filmmaking, and highlighted Beltrán’s visual and narrative voice. The first image from the film has been released by Sublimity.
Annable’s past genre work noted in announcements includes an appearance in Cloverfield and the horror film The Unborn.
