Spanish director, scriptwriter, playwright and painter Jorge Grau (1930–2018) made a notable mark on 1970s European horror cinema while working across film and theater. He is best known for the cult zombie-horror Let Sleeping Corpses Lie (1974) and the gothic-tinged Blood Castle / Ceremonia sangrienta (1973). Grau’s career also included drama, comedy and documentary projects, but his early 1970s horror entries remain his most enduring contributions to genre collectors and aficionados.
