Screamify has announced development of Crack, an original medical-horror feature that mines ASMR and wellness culture for a live-stream nightmare. Calvin Morie McCarthy produces and directs the project for his 7th Street Productions banner.
The story follows Anna West (Peyton Grace Bell), a fragile woman recently out of a halfway house, who becomes entwined with Dr. Ryan Love (Alexander Molina), a Seattle chiropractor whose popular spine-cracking ASMR channel soothes thousands. When his longtime office manager Rita (Tuesday Knight) disappears, Anna inserts herself into the practice and the channel’s online life. The plot culminates in a live broadcast featuring first-time patients — and a neck adjustment that irreversibly goes wrong. The film’s tagline is “Safe. And Sound.”
Production and cast notes
- Principal photography is planned for this fall in Portland, Oregon.
- The film will premiere exclusively on Screamify later in the year.
- Tuesday Knight — known for portraying Kristen Parker in A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master and for writing and performing that film’s opening theme “Nightmare” — joins the cast.
- Alexander Molina and Peyton Grace Bell lead as the chiropractor and Anna West, respectively.
Screamify framed Crack as the first entry in a new focus on medical horror for the streamer and its inaugural ASMR-focused project. The announcement positioned the film amid broader cultural interest in chiropractic “cracking” and ASMR content, which routinely draws high view counts on social platforms and has been the subject of academic and mainstream coverage.
McCarthy’s 7th Street Productions has a catalog of independent horror features, and the director-producer returns to the genre with this intimate, technology-driven premise. The streamer described wellness, parasocial dynamics and the rituals of care as fertile territory for horror stories going forward.
